U-Haul Grows in Odessa with Store near Texas-Permian Basin

PR Newswire

ODESSA, Texas, June 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- U-Haul put its corporate sustainability initiatives to use by renovating a former A3 Storage facility to make U-Haul products and services more accessible to Odessa residents and UTPB students at 6190 Cargo Road.

Since opening last October, U-Haul Moving & Storage of South East Odessa has been offering 245 outside drive-up self-storage units, 45 RV/boat/vehicle storage spaces, moving supplies, boxes and more at the 2.14-acre property.

"People in this neighborhood won't have to drive all the way into town for moving and storage service anymore," general manager Kim Elam said. "We're adding convenience for this great community."

The facility is operated remotely and offers 24/7 self-storage access along with the ability to rent via smartphone or tablet. Elam is on site during the week to serve customers in person.

Contact U-Haul Moving & Storage of South East Odessa at (432) 614-9358 or stop by to view our line of products and services. Hours of operation are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Reserve equipment at uhaul.com or contact Reservations at 1-800-GO-UHAUL.

U-Haul Moving & Storage of South East Odessa is located one mile from the University of Texas at the Permian Basin, giving students easy access to self-storage units that are needed throughout the year.

"Since we are so close to the university, the storage rooms are very necessary," said Jonathan Martindale, U-Haul Company of West Texas president. "This facility will be a one-stop shop and we are excited to add it to the family of U-Haul locations serving Odessa."

The recent acquisition of the Cargo Road facility was driven by U-Haul Company's Corporate Sustainability initiatives: U-Haul® supports infill developments to help local communities lower their carbon footprint. Our adaptive reuse of existing buildings reduces the amount of energy and resources required for new-construction materials and helps cities reduce their unwanted inventory of unused buildings.
